Sotheby's Successfully Auctions Off 21 of St. Paul Snoopy Sculptures
From November 24 through December 8, Sotheby’s successfully hosted an online auction featuring 21 of the Snoopy statues from the PEANUTS on Parade event in St. Paul.
To cap off the year-long 50th Anniversary celebration, the Mall of America, the official celebration site of the 50th Anniversary, was host to a live auction of 40 Snoopy statues from the PEANUTS on Parade celebration. The auction, which was attended by many of Charles Schulz's family members, exceed all expectations by raising $823,000 toward three designated charities: a Permanent bronze sculpture in Saint Paul featuring the PEANUTS Gang; an Endowed Chair of Illustration at the College of Visual Arts; and cartoon Scholarships to the Art Instruction School where Schulz attended and taught.
