The Buckets The Buckets has evolved into one of the most realistic depictions of modern family life in the comics, striking a chord with parents who juggle the demands and the mild insanity of raising a family in the '90s. "I hear from people from all over the country who tell me to stop peeking in their windows," says cartoonist Scott Stantis, who says the strip is loosely based on his own life. "My children are well-behaved, my dog responds instantly to my commands, my wife is secure in her entire being and I am a fair and patient father and husband. Oh yeah, and I'm heavily into denial."
